  • We provide phone numbers, although it has to be said, these are intelligent phone numbers, which can do really clever things that you can’t do with a landline number, or numbers you might have with another provider. We started in 2002 and are based in the centre of Chester in the North West. We provide service to lots of UK businesses, large and small. There are some big names you will know of, but we also look after thousands of small businesses. Although we partner with some of the biggest telephone networks in the UK, we’re an independent operator regulated by Ofcom, PhonePay plus, and we’re a member of Otelo, the telecommunications ombudsman.

Buying Your Click Telecom Phone Number

  • How do I buy a Click Telecom telephone number?
  • Buying a phone number from Click Telecom couldn't be easier. Choose a number from the number range that suits your needs, then pick a call plan based on what features you require. If you need advice you can call us on 0800 988 0800 and we will be happy to help.
  • What call plans do you offer?
  • We have 3 preset Call Plans available plus a "Pick & Mix" plan wich allows you to add individual features that best suit your business needs. Once you have chosen your numbers, you simply select the call plan you need.
  • How long will it take to connect my number?
  • During office hours we will usually have everything connected and ready to go on the same day, normally live within an hour or two of ordering, to reduce any potential down time.
  • Do I need to install another line for my new Click Telecom number?
  • No need! We connect your new number to your existing line; callers can dial either your normal phone number or the new non-geographic number (NGN). Both ways you will receive all your calls as normal.
  • Do I need to purchase any hardware?
  • No, all hardware is hosted at our secure premises. As long as you have an internet connection you can access the Web Access Panel to manage your system.
  • Can I keep my existing numbers?
  • Absolutely, you can transfer your current number to us in a simple process if you want to take advantage of all our clever technology.

  • What services do you provide with your numbers?
  • All our numbers have in-built intelligent features, allowing you to do far more with you calls than you can with a normal landline number, helping you operate your business much more effectively. You can record your calls; offer callers a professional virtual reception menu; route calls to different places at different times; have calls find you wherever you are; queue callers when you lines are busy; transfer calls to other colleagues, wherever you are; work from a landline or mobile, anywhere to like; receive your voicemail and receive faxes in your email; you can even access live call reporting and control all your call routing settings through the website, or by using an app on your phone.
  • I have a number with a different provider. Can I transfer it to Click Telecom?
  • Not a problem! If you have a number with another service provider, you can transfer it to us and get a whole load of extra features and functionality you don’t have right now. If you would like Click Telecom to maintain and provide services for your number then you must port it to us.
  • What does porting a number mean and what does it involve?
  • Porting a number is just transferring a number from one operator to another. To port an existing number, you must complete an industry standard porting request form; we will then liaise with your current supplier on your behalf. But don’t worry; we will be here every step of the way to help you with this.
  • Will there be any disruption in service?
  • Not on our watch! Moving a number is easy so that both you and your customers won’t experience any interruption to service at any point.
  • Can I forward my new number to a different landline or mobile?
  • Yes, your incoming calls can be forwarded to any landline or mobile you choose, in the UK or even abroad. You can take calls wherever you want. You can change this destination number at any time either online or with our free iPhone app.
  • I want to be able to listen to previous calls for training purposes, do I need to buy separate software for this?
  • Not at all. You can record your calls effortlessly without the need to buy expensive equipment and requires no installation. Recordings can be delivered by email, FTP or stored securely online. Calls are recorded within the telephone network cloud, allowing you to record calls for multiple sites, offices or even home-workers. It’s quick and simple to use, fully scalable to suit any size of business and can be switched on or off in minutes, so is perfect for staff training, quality control or compliance issues.

  • All customer calls are vital, how can you make sure I never miss a call?
  • We understand how important it is that every call to your company is answered. That’s why we offer a range of solutions to ensure your customers are always heard. Just like a traditional phone system, our hunt group feature will try a list of numbers in turn until a call is answered, allowing calls to be answered by whoever is available. You can also share calls on a ratio or percentage basis across multiple people, departments or locations. Our group pick-up feature will try up to seven numbers at the same time, with all phones ringing at once, where the first to answer gets the call.
  • I don’t want to loose customers because they can't get through straight away. Help!

  • How can I make sure customer calls are directed to the right department within my business?
  • Click Telecom offer “Auto Attendant IVR”; a virtual switchboard allowing you to answer multiple calls at the same time, even during period of high call volumes. Callers are offered a menu choice of people, departments or offices and calls are distributed and connected automatically. This is hosted within the telephone network meaning it can work across multiple sites or locations, even home-workers. You don’t have to buy any expensive equipment; you don’t need any new phone lines or a dedicated reception staff. It’s easy to use, quick to set-up and works with any Click Telecom number.
  • What happens to customer calls out of hours?

  • How do I listen to customer voicemails?
  • We’ll deliver audio recordings to you by either email or FTP wherever you happen to be, meaning you can store and share them with ease. Simply save them to your computer or forward them to a colleague or another department in the same way that you’d forward an email. You can even access them via your email compatible mobile phone.
  • I want my answering system to be personalised, can you help with this?

Using our web portal allows you to make live amends to your call routing configuration, or connect new numbers, instantly. You can also access your recorded calls, voicemails, and copies of faxes, as well as viewing call activity reports. If you use our network-based call queuing service, you will be able to see live information on queuing callers, such as number of calls holding, telephone numbers of calls and each individual waiting time. And if you are away from the office, we have apps for your phone allowing you to do all this whilst you’re out and about. How good’s that?
  • I have office locations around the world, how can I easily stay in touch with them all?

What Does It All Mean?

  • What are Non-Geographic Numbers?
  • Our numbers are virtual phone numbers, so you don’t need a fixed phone line. You can have calls forwarded wherever you like, making them dynamic and future-proof, just two of the many reasons non-geographic numbers have become hugely popular with UK businesses. 0870, 0845, 0871, 0800, 0844 & 03 numbers are termed "Non Geographic" because they are not fixed to one particular location and their dialling prefixes do not represent a particular geographical area.
  • What are 0843 & 0844 Numbers?
  • 0843 and 0844 numbers are by far the most popular non-geographic numbers in use in the UK today. Callers pay a flat 5p per minute from a BT landline, and you’ll earn up to 4 pence per minute share of the call revenue from us on your incoming calls.
  • What are 0800 & 0808 Freephone Numbers?
  • Freephone numbers are a great way to attract new customers or improve customer service by making the call free to the caller.
  • What are 0845 Numbers?
  • 0845 numbers are still a hugely popular and widely used number range. Callers pay the BT local rate when calling from UK landline and for many people with inclusive minutes with BT, calls to 0845 are completely free.
  • What are 0871 & 0872 Numbers?
  • 0871 and 0872 numbers are often used in after sales call centres, booking lines or circumstances such as technical support. Callers pay a flat 10p per minute from a BT landline, and you’ll earn up to 7 pence per minute share of the call revenue from us on your incoming calls.
  • What are 03 Numbers?
